EDGE Talk 8/15: Respecting Human Dignity & Chastity

First, I would like to start off by telling you that our God, and Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, loves you more than you could ever imagine. But let it be known, He does indeed love each and every one of you. If your read through the scriptures you'll know that He does. That is because that book, those scriptures, that is our Lord's love letter to each of us. It is His way of expressing to us in print how much He loves us.

Want to know how much that He loves you?

Scripture says, "...that when we were all still sinners, He died for us, so that we may obtain eternal life."

Wow! That is some serious love right there!

What that is telling us is that while us humans were still doing bad things and basically spitting on the hand that is feeding us (and that hand is the hand of Jesus), He still died for us so that we can go to Heaven and live forever with Him and His Heavenly Father.

Because of that great love that our Savior showed onto us, we must work each and every day to return that love back to Jesus.

How do we this?

Funny you ask. Well, there are many ways we can do this. But among the many ways to return Jesus the love that He always shows to us, I want to talk about one that I believe to be one of the most important:

Respecting Human Dignity

How do we respect Human Dignity you may ask? Or maybe you're asking, what exactly is Human Dignity?

Okay, I'll tell you.

Human Dignity is the idea that all of us here on God's planet and living in his world are worth something. The idea that each and every one of our stories matters. And that because of that we must treat each other with the respect that each of us deserve because, well, we do all matter and we all have a specific purpose to fulfill in this world.

Now, how do we respect each others Human Dignity? Well, I'm going to answer that by telling you why we should. And I'll start by addressing the men who are reading this.

Men. Every single women in your life is so beautiful and special. But why are they beautiful? Why are they special?... I'll tell you the answer.

They are beautiful and special because they are all beautiful daughters of God; the one and only Jesus Christ, and our Father Almighty. And because they are daughters of The One True King that makes each and everyone of them princesses to the Heavenly Father. And that my fellow men is special! And that my fellow men is beautiful!

Now men, be honest, if that wasn't your original answer to my questions of, "why are they special?" and, "why are they beautiful?", then just remember this and engrave this true answer into your heart and soul when you think about women and when you wonder how it is that they are so beautiful.

Remember men, that they are Princesses of The One True King, and as you go forward always remember to always treat them like princesses because that is what they deserve.

And Women, from what I have just said please know that you are beautiful, and that you are special. If nobody has told you that before let it be told to you now. You are beautiful and you are special.

But Ladies, you're not off the hook just yet.

No, no. And that is because what would a princess be with out her prince.

Women, men have been put on this planet to safeguard you and to protect your sacred dignity given to you from your Father. So please, never take us men for granted.

And to do this you have it simple. Just don't lower your standards, and always push us to be the best men that we can be. And the guys are going to hate me for telling you this, but this means that if we are ever wrong, tell us.

Our God put Eve into the world with Adam because He saw that Adam was lonely and that this loneliness was unhealthy. So always be here for us men because that is one of the purposes that our Lord put you on this Earth.

So ladies, I suppose all I have to you is to respect your princes; the Sons of The One True King. And never let them falter in upholding their Father's throne.

Now I want to conclude be addressing both the men and the women.

Each and every one of you reading this was given life. That life which you were endowed by the Creator is a sacred thing. That life is a temple of our Savior because you all have Him inside your hearts and in your souls.

Protect that sacredness and always stay pure.

Your bodies are all temples of The Living Christ in this world! So protect that!

And that means Chastity.

Now when people think of Chastity they say, "OMG! No sex, ever! That's dumb!"

Well, their right that is dumb... Because that isn't what Chastity means.

The church isn't antí-sex at all, the church doesn't teach to never have sex; actually the church probably the greatest advocate for sex in the history of time.

Haven't you noticed how the church is like super Pro-Life.

What the church teaches is that sex is this sacred act. Something that is so sacred that it is only to be shared between a man and women when they are married.

Now, the key words there are "when they are married."

The church teaches this because it protects the sacredness of the holy sacrament of marriage and also to respect and reinforce the sacredness of the sexual act between man and women.

Sex isn't to be shared between a man and women until they get married because the church teaches that this act of sex is so sacred because it is one of God's way of physically letting us know how amazing it will feel to be united with Him eternally in Heaven. Now, that isn't to say that sex is as great as heaven. No, not at all. Sex is simple a window into Heaven that God has given us so that we may peer into Heaven and want to seek  His Kingdom further.

And so because of this sacredness of sex and of marriage the church teaches us that sex is to be a gift that we give to our spouse on our wedding night once we are married by the Priest.

So now in conclusion:

To All, respect your bodies because "you are a temple of the Holy Spirit within you." and respect all Human Dignity.

To Women, respect the princes of the Son of Man, our God; Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

And to Men, respect the princesses of The One True King. And always treat them as the beautiful princesses that they all are.

Now, sometimes all this I'm telling you may be hard, but let me leave you with this:

"Perfection is possible. Don't let anyone in this world convince you otherwise. Perfection does not mean never making a mistake. Perfection is knowing that at the end of the day, when all is said and done, you had nothing left to give." - Mr. Eric Stambaugh

Ladies and Gentlemen, Perfection is possible! Go out into this world and give it your all, so that you know at the end of the day, you have nothing left to give.

If you go forward to do that, then you will have no regrets, and God will have favor with you. This I promise.

Live your life for Him and never, ever give up!

Have hope in our Savior Jesus Christ and go out in this world and do His will.

Return the Love that He showed all of us "that when we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

SO DO IT!

Go out into the world and spread His message and His everlasting Love!

"Go and bring His Light into the world.".

Stop the Hate, Spread the Hope

An anti-bullying organization created by teens and for teens. Stop the Hate, Spread the Hope is here to support and help those who have been bullied or are being bullied, along with those who may witness bullying. We also are here to start a conversation that is that bullying IS something that happens, and that this issue can't be seen as something translucent any longer. Bullying is a brick wall in front of everyone who encounters it, and as an organization Stop the Hate, Spread the Hope is looking to break down that brick wall. We are here to spread the message that when it comes to the issue of bullying there is no more standing by. And by getting people to stand up in community against this issue, we have hope that bullying will end and that things will get better. And that finally everyone will treat one another the way they'd want to be treated.
