On The Beach With The Family

Today was a beautiful day on the beach here in my hometown of Syracuse, NY.

My dad works in the country of Mexico and is not home often; so it's a real treat when he comes home to visit the family!

He has been home this entire past week so him, my mom, my brother, my sister, and I have been hanging out as much as we can.

Today we decided to drive out to Sylvan Beach in Verona, NY - it's only about an hour away from home so it was an easy drive out here. It's been gorgeous weather and a great time visiting with the whole family!

If you ever are in the area, you have to be sure to come and visit Sylvan Beach!

American Legion Boys State of New York 2013

This past week I served as a State Counselor to the American Legion's Boys State of New York. It was an incredible experience to go back to a program that helped me grow so much as a person, and now have the chance to go back and serve to help others grow and learn!

Above is a picture of me with Holocaust surviver, Helen Sperling, an amazing women with an incredible story of survival that inspired all at the program.

She spoke a lot about knowing ones self-worth and that no person can make another feel as if they are nothing because we must believe otherwise and be strong. She said that we can no longer be bystanders and that we must fight for the good in this world we live in.

There were aproximately 1033 boys who graduated from the Boys State program this year, and all that I spoke to said that they were inspired - two years ago, I myself was attending the program and heard Mrs. Sperling's story for the first time back in 2011, and was also truly inspired by it.

I was honored enough this year to return to the Boys State program not just as a Counselor but also as a guest speaker for the second year in a row.

I spoke this year to the students about my own personal story of overcoming odds and finding success in my life. I used my own story as a catalyst to inspire the boys to recognize their full potential to truly make a difference in the world and that anything they put their mind to is possible.

This year's Boys State had an amazing group of young men who I'm sure will go forward to make a difference in the world. I am honored to have worked with all of them.

Roll Call!!!

Everyone get ready cause things are about to get busy!

Today was a super busy day for me! Woke up early because I had to be at a meeting at my college early in the morning, but before I went to that I had to call up a sales rep at a venue that STH Squared is trying to secure for an event. After that call and my meeting I spoke with a student who was interested in getting more involved with Stop the Hate, Spread the Hope, Inc. Immediately after that I had to jump on a conference call with the United States Department of Education discussing Anti-bullying efforts that are being made around the country.

After all the running around and rolling calls back to back I had to go to class for the next three hours; and guess what followed right after that three hour class? Yep, you got it! More rolling calls. And after that another three hour class! And to finish off my whole day... Yep, you guessed it again! More rolling calls!

Throughout the day I had called and spoken to sales reps, government officials, assistants, organization founders and presidents, involved youth & motivated students, teachers & professors, alumni directors, executive assistants, publicist, and talent agents!

But no worries, like I always say, it's all in a days work!

Scammed!

I recently began buying and selling products on eBay. The first product I listed happened to be a 3rd Generation Apple iPod Nano. It was also the first product of mine that I ended up "selling", or so I thought I did.

The buyer purchased the item and did not submit a payment anytime soon so therefore I decided to contact the buyer about how she would make the payment. She told me that she would pay through PayPal, and so I began to monitor my PayPal account and wait... And wait... And wait...

After a while no payment came into my account, so again I contacted the buyer would told me she had made the payment and to check my email that I should've gotten a email from PayPal about confirmation of the payment. So I checked and there was the email she talked about. It asked me to ship the item to the buyer's desired location. Once I had done that it asked me to send them the tracking number of the package and once I had done that I would be able to access the funds the buyer had paid me with.

It was convincing, so I got everything package and ready to ship. I even went to the post office and paid to ship the item and it was in the hands of the USPS.

Then I sat in the parking lot and I felt a little unsettled about the order so I called PayPal. When I did and I explained to them about what happened throughout the order process. Immediately after I told them they told me I had been being scammed by the buyer and I should get the package back.

So I did, and that was that. Yes I had been scammed but I luckily didn't loss anything.

So be careful when selling on eBay, because you may just get scammed.

iPhone & Technological Innovation

So last week I bought the iPhone 4. I love it so far!
To me it is a true testiment to technological innovation in people’s daily lives and within the workplace itself. The iPhone, along with countless of other technological advancements, can drastically help to increase and stimulate people’s productivity in the work that they do. For example, right now I am writing this blog right now on my iPhone while I’m just sitting around and I have a free moment. The new technology is engaging and stimulates me to want to do more things just because I can with such ease! Personally, I have seen my productivity double since I purchased the iPhone and have been using it to get tasks done with my school and work with Stop the Hate, Spread the Hope.
So basically the theme I’m trying to get across to everybody with this blog is that use technology to your advantage because using it the right way might just lead to your success.

The Egg Waiting To Be Cracked

Nick Longo is more than meets the eye; he is many things.

Nick Longo is a bright individual. An intelligent youth has hopes and dreams to be in the White House one day. The young eighteen year old conservative republican is a political activist who looks for positive change in his country and community. He also acquires a strong work ethic that motivates him to help bring that change in his living environments about. Longo is an entrepreneur and a business owner who tries to help people in all the work that he does. His creativity and bundle of ideas within his plethora of knowledge has helped him to succeed in all of his endeavors.

He may be little like an ant but he is strong like a bull. His heart is ten times bigger than his body, and he is a kind and caring individual. Longo is not only strong in heart but also strong in character.

Longo has a great sense of humor, is goofy, and is a funny individual. On top of the jokes he makes that always bring laughs to others, he isn’t afraid to laugh at himself. Longo is a good friend and can always be an ear for somebody if they need someone to listen.

An athletic young man who has been roughing it up on the wrestling mats since he was ten, Longo is also very competitive. He does not like to lose, but is okay in accepting failure. Longo is like the “little train that could” because he’s continuous effort to just keep trying. He is a strong young fellow who can lift far more than his own body weight.

Nick Longo is a professional in everything that he does in his life. He always tends to rise to the occasion when he is most vitally needed. A great public speaker and presenter; Longo always tries to use his powerful voice and strategic choice in words to help people understand any points that he is trying to get across.

Longo has the potential to rise like a rocket ship, and his potential is like an egg. You can do three things with an egg. One, you can drop it and will smash so nothing good will come of it. Two, you can leave it out and it will spoil so that the delicious nutrients inside will never be enjoyed. Or three, you can crack it just right and enjoy the delicious meal that you have created.

So when you first look at him Longo may just seem to be your average eighteen year old high school teenager who is striving to do his best in life, but underneath it all is a very deeply passionate person who is so many different things. Longo is an egg waiting to be cracked so that he may share his wonderful gifts and amazing talents with the world.

EDGE Talk 8/15: Respecting Human Dignity & Chastity

First, I would like to start off by telling you that our God, and Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, loves you more than you could ever imagine. But let it be known, He does indeed love each and every one of you. If your read through the scriptures you'll know that He does. That is because that book, those scriptures, that is our Lord's love letter to each of us. It is His way of expressing to us in print how much He loves us.

Want to know how much that He loves you?

Scripture says, "...that when we were all still sinners, He died for us, so that we may obtain eternal life."

Wow! That is some serious love right there!

What that is telling us is that while us humans were still doing bad things and basically spitting on the hand that is feeding us (and that hand is the hand of Jesus), He still died for us so that we can go to Heaven and live forever with Him and His Heavenly Father.

Because of that great love that our Savior showed onto us, we must work each and every day to return that love back to Jesus.

How do we this?

Funny you ask. Well, there are many ways we can do this. But among the many ways to return Jesus the love that He always shows to us, I want to talk about one that I believe to be one of the most important:

Respecting Human Dignity

How do we respect Human Dignity you may ask? Or maybe you're asking, what exactly is Human Dignity?

Okay, I'll tell you.

Human Dignity is the idea that all of us here on God's planet and living in his world are worth something. The idea that each and every one of our stories matters. And that because of that we must treat each other with the respect that each of us deserve because, well, we do all matter and we all have a specific purpose to fulfill in this world.

Now, how do we respect each others Human Dignity? Well, I'm going to answer that by telling you why we should. And I'll start by addressing the men who are reading this.

Men. Every single women in your life is so beautiful and special. But why are they beautiful? Why are they special?... I'll tell you the answer.

They are beautiful and special because they are all beautiful daughters of God; the one and only Jesus Christ, and our Father Almighty. And because they are daughters of The One True King that makes each and everyone of them princesses to the Heavenly Father. And that my fellow men is special! And that my fellow men is beautiful!

Now men, be honest, if that wasn't your original answer to my questions of, "why are they special?" and, "why are they beautiful?", then just remember this and engrave this true answer into your heart and soul when you think about women and when you wonder how it is that they are so beautiful.

Remember men, that they are Princesses of The One True King, and as you go forward always remember to always treat them like princesses because that is what they deserve.

And Women, from what I have just said please know that you are beautiful, and that you are special. If nobody has told you that before let it be told to you now. You are beautiful and you are special.

But Ladies, you're not off the hook just yet.

No, no. And that is because what would a princess be with out her prince.

Women, men have been put on this planet to safeguard you and to protect your sacred dignity given to you from your Father. So please, never take us men for granted.

And to do this you have it simple. Just don't lower your standards, and always push us to be the best men that we can be. And the guys are going to hate me for telling you this, but this means that if we are ever wrong, tell us.

Our God put Eve into the world with Adam because He saw that Adam was lonely and that this loneliness was unhealthy. So always be here for us men because that is one of the purposes that our Lord put you on this Earth.

So ladies, I suppose all I have to you is to respect your princes; the Sons of The One True King. And never let them falter in upholding their Father's throne.

Now I want to conclude be addressing both the men and the women.

Each and every one of you reading this was given life. That life which you were endowed by the Creator is a sacred thing. That life is a temple of our Savior because you all have Him inside your hearts and in your souls.

Protect that sacredness and always stay pure.

Your bodies are all temples of The Living Christ in this world! So protect that!

And that means Chastity.

Now when people think of Chastity they say, "OMG! No sex, ever! That's dumb!"

Well, their right that is dumb... Because that isn't what Chastity means.

The church isn't antí-sex at all, the church doesn't teach to never have sex; actually the church probably the greatest advocate for sex in the history of time.

Haven't you noticed how the church is like super Pro-Life.

What the church teaches is that sex is this sacred act. Something that is so sacred that it is only to be shared between a man and women when they are married.

Now, the key words there are "when they are married."

The church teaches this because it protects the sacredness of the holy sacrament of marriage and also to respect and reinforce the sacredness of the sexual act between man and women.

Sex isn't to be shared between a man and women until they get married because the church teaches that this act of sex is so sacred because it is one of God's way of physically letting us know how amazing it will feel to be united with Him eternally in Heaven. Now, that isn't to say that sex is as great as heaven. No, not at all. Sex is simple a window into Heaven that God has given us so that we may peer into Heaven and want to seek  His Kingdom further.

And so because of this sacredness of sex and of marriage the church teaches us that sex is to be a gift that we give to our spouse on our wedding night once we are married by the Priest.

So now in conclusion:

To All, respect your bodies because "you are a temple of the Holy Spirit within you." and respect all Human Dignity.

To Women, respect the princes of the Son of Man, our God; Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

And to Men, respect the princesses of The One True King. And always treat them as the beautiful princesses that they all are.

Now, sometimes all this I'm telling you may be hard, but let me leave you with this:

"Perfection is possible. Don't let anyone in this world convince you otherwise. Perfection does not mean never making a mistake. Perfection is knowing that at the end of the day, when all is said and done, you had nothing left to give." - Mr. Eric Stambaugh

Ladies and Gentlemen, Perfection is possible! Go out into this world and give it your all, so that you know at the end of the day, you have nothing left to give.

If you go forward to do that, then you will have no regrets, and God will have favor with you. This I promise.

Live your life for Him and never, ever give up!

Have hope in our Savior Jesus Christ and go out in this world and do His will.

Return the Love that He showed all of us "that when we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

SO DO IT!

Go out into the world and spread His message and His everlasting Love!

"Go and bring His Light into the world.".

Stop the Hate, Spread the Hope

An anti-bullying organization created by teens and for teens. Stop the Hate, Spread the Hope is here to support and help those who have been bullied or are being bullied, along with those who may witness bullying. We also are here to start a conversation that is that bullying IS something that happens, and that this issue can't be seen as something translucent any longer. Bullying is a brick wall in front of everyone who encounters it, and as an organization Stop the Hate, Spread the Hope is looking to break down that brick wall. We are here to spread the message that when it comes to the issue of bullying there is no more standing by. And by getting people to stand up in community against this issue, we have hope that bullying will end and that things will get better. And that finally everyone will treat one another the way they'd want to be treated.
